First Christian Church

First Norman Congregational Church, UCC

On Sunday, the Reverend Mark Davies, Ph.D., will preach “Faithful Love and Truth Have Met; Righteousness and peace have kissed each other,” from Luke 11:1-13, during the 4 p.m. worship service at 601 24th Ave. SW, during worship. The service will be broadcast live on the church’s YouTube channel. Visiting Minister Davies is a social science professor at Wimberly. and Ecological Ethics and Director of the World House Institute for Social and Ecological Responsibility at Oklahoma City University. Louise Whitaker will serve as liturgist and Neil Whyte will provide special music.

North Haven Church

St. Joseph’s Catholic Church

On the 17th Sunday in Ordinary Time, the church will celebrate Masses with Father Irwin at 7 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. in English and Spanish at 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Next week, all daily Masses will be at 11:30 am in the main church. The confessions schedule is 10:30 a.m. on Fridays and 3 p.m. on Saturdays in the main church and 5 p.m. on Wednesdays in the chapel confessional. The fifth annual Blessed Stanley Rother Rosary Run will take place on Saturday. Registration begins at 8 a.m. at the Catholic Pastoral Center, 7501 NW Expressway in Oklahoma City. St. Joseph will celebrate Bl. Stanley Rother Feast Day Mass at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in the main church. University Lutheran Church and Student Center (ELCA)

Sunday, Pr. Summerville’s sermon based on Luke 11:1-13, focuses on Christ’s teaching regarding prayer. Holy Communion is offered at 8:30 and 11:00 a.m. services. A community breakfast is offered at 9:30 am. Christian Education for All Ages and Pr. Summerville’s “Lutheranism 101” class for adults starts at 10:00 a.m. One of the Sunday services will be available on YouTube at the University Lutheran Church and Student Center Media on Sunday afternoon. The Lutheran World Relief Quilters meet Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. Sunday at 4:30 p.m. Voices for the Voiceless presents a program featuring Saidy Orellana, multicultural officer with the Oklahoma Historical Society, and volunteer with the Norman Coalition for the support for refugees. His program, “The Importance of Representation,” will highlight the benefits of creating bridges of communication and cultural exchange opportunities for all Oklahomans. The public is invited.
