First Christian Church

On the Sixth Sunday of Easter, Reverend David Spain will preach “What Jesus Leaves,” from John 14:18-27, during worship at 8:40 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. The 10:45 a.m. service will be broadcast live. First Norman Congregational Church, UCC

On Sunday, a “hymn festival” will take place at 4 p.m. at 601 24th Ave. SW while Reverend Robin Meyers is absent from the pulpit. He will return on August 21. In June and July, the chair will be filled by Reverend Mitch Randall in June, Managing Director of Good Faith Media and First Pastor of NorthHaven Church, and Dr. Mark Davies in July, Wimberly Professor of Social and Ecological Ethics and Director from the World House Institute for Social and Ecological Responsibility at Oklahoma City University.

St. Joseph’s Catholic Church

On the Sixth Sunday of Easter, the church will celebrate Masses with Father Irwin at 7 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. in English and with Father Lepak at 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. in Spanish. Daily masses are held at 12:05 p.m. Tuesday through Friday in the chapel and at 8 a.m. Saturday and Monday. The confessions schedule is 10:30 a.m. on Fridays and 3 p.m. on Saturdays in the main church and 5 p.m. on Wednesdays in the chapel confessional. There will be no daily masses at 12:05 p.m. from May 24 to 26 and no confessions on Wednesdays. Bishop Paul S. Coakley will celebrate the Confirmation Mass at 6 p.m. May 26 in the main church. Mission Monks sells large quantities of pasture-raised Oklahoma cattle. Contact Fr. Simeon at 878-5427 for more. The Monks Market at St. Gregory Abbey will sell cut beef, raw wildflower honey and other items. Br. Peter Shults, OSB will present “Blessed are the Gentle and Courageous Christians,” from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 25 at St. Gregory’s Abbey, 1900 W. MacArthur St. in Shawnee. The seats are limited. University Lutheran Church and Student Center (ELCA)

On Sunday, Prof. Summerville will preach John 14:23-29, during worship with Holy Communion at 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. A communion breakfast will be held at 9:30 a.m., with Christian education at 10 a.m. Prof. Summerville leads a “Lutheranism 101” class at age 10. All are invited. A service will be available on YouTube at the University Lutheran Church and Student Center Media in the afternoon. The book study group will meet at 1:30 p.m. Friday to discuss “Nature’s Best Hope” by Douglas Tallamy. Clean food service and packaging foam can be dropped off for recycling at the Styro-Station from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.
