Mehsana, October 12: On Wednesday, BJP leader JP Nadda signaled Becharaji’s Gaurav Yatra in Mehsana district to reach out to the people ahead of the assembly elections scheduled for this year’s end.
Addressing party workers in Becharaji, Nadda attacked the Congress party. He said: “The party had sown seeds of acacia trees, so acacia trees will grow and development will never happen…While Prime Minister Narendra Modi paved the way for development first in the state and now for the country. The development of model Gujarat has become a model for many other states.”
He called on workers to carry the party’s messages to every household and publicize the development works, policies and programs undertaken by the central government and state governments.
Later today, he will launch the second Gaurav Yatra from Dwarka to Saurashtra.
The BJP has planned five Gaurav Yatras, two to be reported by Nadda and three by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday.
The Gaurav Yatra which started from Becharaji will end at Mata Na Madh in Kutch, and the one starting on Wednesday afternoon will end at Porbandar’s Kutiyana.
The party nominated 16 national leaders and 14 heads of state to accompany the Gaurav Yatra. It will cover 44 Assembly seats in North Gujarat and Saurashtra-Kutch and address 145 public meetings.
