Open house offering in-person tours this weekend

More than 100 locations across Milwaukee will offer free tours

The historic Doors Open Milwaukee event will take place Saturday and Sunday, featuring tours of more than 100 sites across Milwaukee. Last year’s event was virtual due to COVID-19. Various buildings such as places of worship, gardens, small businesses and more will be available to the public, ranging from free admission to $10 a ticket. Some tours may require reservations, which can be made through the Historic Milwaukee Inc site. Self-guided app tours are also available to the public. Tickets were still available Wednesday morning for these tours: Jones Island, Saturday at 12 p.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. Lincoln Creek Bike & Hike, Saturday at 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. Green Tech Station Tour, Saturday at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. Lulu & Rocky Kids Tour, Saturday at 11 a.m. Terry McCormick Contemporary Fine and Folk Art Gallery, Saturday at 1 p.m., Sunday at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

Historic Milwaukee encourages the public to plan ahead to ensure enough time to visit all desired locations.

Some tours may require reservations, which can be made through the Historic Milwaukee Inc site. Self-guided app tours are also available to the public.
