VBS for all ages in downtown Culpeper

The Antioch Baptist Church will be holding a Vacation Bible School from 6 to 8 p.m. June 15-17 at the church, 202 S. West St. in Culpeper.

All ages are welcome – from 2 years old to adults.

Support Reformation VBS at the shred event

Do you have a mountain of paper to shred safely? Join Thrivent for a free shredding event from 10 a.m. to noon today in the parking lot of the Reformation Lutheran Church, 601 Madison Rd. in Culpeper.

Organizers are encouraging donations of snacks and craft supplies to benefit the VBS program the church is hosting this month. Participants can donate individually wrapped snacks (Rice Krispie candies, cheese crackers, chips), juice boxes, craft supplies, baby wipes, liquid glue, small rubber bands and cornstarch liquid. Free raffle on site.

DST Survival Kits

Unity Baptist Church-Culpeper is accepting donations in support of its efforts to provide breakfast and lunch this summer to as many local children as possible.

DST Survival Kits will be distributed from noon to 2 p.m. this Saturday, June 11 at the Church, 128 W. Culpeper St. and from noon to 2 p.m. on July 16 at Rockwater Park.

To support the program, Unity Baptist collects monetary contributions, boxes of cereal, oatmeal, granola bars, Chef Boyardee cups, ramen noodles, packets of chip snacks, cookies, crackers, bottled water, peanut butter, jelly, juice boxes, Hot Pockets, Stuffed pizza slices. ‘Movie Magic’ Concert at CBC

Come join the Piedmont Community Band of Windmore for a Movie Magic concert at 5 p.m. this Sunday, June 12 at the Worship Center at Culpeper Baptist Church.

This free kid-friendly program will feature music from some favorite movies in an air-conditioned room.

Spanberger goes to the Church of Antioch

Rep. Abigail Spanberger, D-7th, attended services on Sunday, June 5 at the historic Antioch Baptist Church in Culpeper. In a message, the congresswoman said it was great to be there.

“The church is one of the oldest in Culpeper, Virginia. On July 17, the church will celebrate its 163rd anniversary! Thank you for having me!” Spanberger posted.

Spark Studios VBS in Boston

Mount Lebanon Baptist is hosting a 9 a.m. to noon Vacation Bible School June 13-17 for youth in grades 5 through 6 at The Church, 6131 Sperryville Pike in Boston, VA.

The church will kick creativity into high gear at Sparks Studio and show children the beautiful truth, according to a church article.

Young people will learn that God’s creativity did not stop in Genesis. The master artist works to redeem, recover and transform his creation according to the design he has planned.

Puzzle Rooms at Sonrise Sunday

Children ages 4-11 are invited to come and enjoy another fun Sonrise Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon on June 25 at Culpeper Presbyterian Church, 215 S. Main St.

This month, young people will have fun learning Bible stories while working to solve puzzle rooms at this free event. Music, snacks and fun.

Church of the Living God International is hosting a fish fry beginning at noon June 25 onsite at 406 N. Main St. in the town of Gordonsville.

Dinner, for $12, will include two sides (mac and cheese, green beans, baked beans or coleslaw) and a piece of cornbread. Desserts for $2 will include coconut pie, sweet potato pie, chocolate cake or yellow cake. Proceeds will go to the church building fund.

Mega Sports Camp VBS in Antioch Madison

Antioch Baptist of Madison will host Vacation Bible School from 6-8 p.m. nightly June 20-23 at Mud Road Church.

Community lunch in Amissville

United Methodist Men of Amissville will be hosting a community breakfast from 8 to 10 a.m. this Saturday, June 11 in the church social hall, 14760 Lee Highway in Amissville.

Adult Sunday School is at 9 a.m. in the Social Hall and Sunday Service at 10 a.m. in the Sanctuary. Zoom and live streaming services are also available.

Alcoholics Anonymous meets at 7:30 p.m. on Mondays in the social hall. Bible study with Frank Fishback is on Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m. in the social room.

Branch Culpeper Young Adults at CBC

Culpeper Branch Young Adult Ministry at Culpeper Baptist Church meets at 4:30 p.m. Sunday and 6:30 p.m. Monday at the worship center. Summer events will include a mini-golf excursion this Saturday, June 11 at Mineral, a night of worship on June 25, and a backyard dinner on June 26.

Branch Culpeper is also planning a July 2 trip to see the Fredericksburg Nationals.
